SIDE-NOTES
Google translator has a very good polish lector. You can put there every sentence and listen how it sounds. ^^
Literally it is: How do you have for first name? ‘how’ because ‘how are you called?’ ‘have’ because ‘the name is sth what you HAVE’ and...
‘na’ + none - normally ‘na’ means ‘on’
but in this and several other cases the meaning is ‘for’ like in question: ‘What do you have for breakfest?’
Other 2 cases which I can recall for now: na zadanie domowe – ‘for homework’ na usprawiedliwienie –‘for justification’
pieniądz – on; pieniądze – one (Do you remember what on, ona, ono, oni, one mean?)
The difference here is between the cases of nouns. You have to always ask yourself auxiliary questions before you start inflect cases intuitively. ‘I have...(kogo/co? – accusative =biernik )’ But with negation: ‘I don’t have... (kogo/czego? –genetive =dopełniacz)’ kogo? – of who? Czego? – of what? *As you see sometimes accussative is the same as genetive |
