I am Japanese, and I pride of it. Because of all Japan have a lot of wonderful food, scenery, traditional culture and history. I especially like Yamanashi which there is near the Kanto district and between Tokyo and Shizuoka prefectural and there are many mountains and basins so summer is very hot and humid. The opposite, in the winter is very cold so I can’t go out without gloves. When I lived in Yamanashi, I could feel the four seasons. I’m from Yamanashi and had been lived in there long time. I know many Yamanashi’s good points. I think that I want everyone to know a lot of good point in Yamanashi through this essay.

     Yamanashi prefecture is my favorite place because of three reasons. The first reason is that food is delicious. It is said that “Yamanashi’s fruits are the best in japan.” Actual grapes and peaches are the most produced in Japan, and there are many kinds for example “Kyohou” “Kaizi” “Pio-ne”. Some people order it expressly.  Secondly there are traditional foods, in these foods my recommendation are houto, torinomotuni and singenmoti. Houto which is similar udon simmer pumpkin, many vegetables and porkchops with miso. I like my mother making it which taste is good and our body get warmer and our heart is warm. I often become to want to eat it. Torinomotuni is also traditional food. Shingenmochi is most famous souvenir of Yamanashi. Soybean flour is sprinkled with rice cake, which drops with black syrup. When I take it my friends living other prefectural, they are glad.

     Secondly Yamanashi is the good natural environment. There are many mountains. These looked magnificent. I always saw mountains and could feel the four seasons. For example spring a lot of mountain cherry blossom bloom so mountain become light pink, summer fresh green leaves sparkle by sunlight. We feel life force. I like all season’s mountains but especially I like winter’s it which is covered with snow is very beautiful and fascinate so many people come to take pictures. In addition to there is Mt.Fuji which is the highest mountain in Japan. Many people come to climb. I’m pride of it of the top of Japan.

     Thirdly Yamanashi has a lot of traditions. There is Shingen Takeda as a general, who come from Yamanashi. He moved history and he is popular. He is manly and has decision. His lifetime became drama. That drama name is “fu-rinkazan” which is popular, so many people watched it. Many people were impressed by the drama. Other hand, there are many tradition industrial arts, for example “kousyu-inden” and crystal work. I like these. Kousyu-Inden was introduced from India in the Edo Era. Japanese government specified it for a traditional industrial art object.

     These are many good points, so these reasons I like Yamanashi.
