Hello everybody !
I hope you’re okay these days, between us I was little sick in fact cold, but I am still on life lol. Last,I was talking about the dialects and in the second lesson about the system of phonetic in Arabic that I will use to help you in the pronunciation. Well, at first, this system, I will just use it in some times, then step by step I will use the letters in Arabic ;).
Let’s go now to know the today’s lesson , it’s about the sounds of (a,u,i,’). In Arabic, we use special rules to make these sounds, you can say it’s as the system of pinyin in Chinese mandarin, but it’s easier than chinese.
We name them (al-Harakaat)
1/ al-Harakaat in Arabic
« َ » al-fat’Ha a مَ ma
«ِ » al-kas’ra i سِ si
«ُ » a-DDamma u قُ Ku
«ْ » a-ssukun ‘ تْ t'
Examples :
دَرَسَ-------- دَ +رَ+سَ ------- da+ra+sa ---- darasa
يَقْرَأُ --------يَ+قْ+رَ+أُ ------- ya+K’+ra+u --- yaK’rau
The ( au,iu,ai,ia....) doesn’t make any sense, so you pronounce a i
For example :
ai you will pronounces as (a+i).
أَ ---- a
أُ --- u
إِ --- i
أْ ---- a’
-Now another thing, it’s about « a-ttanwiin » :
ً an تً tan
ٍ in لٍ lin
ٌ un فٌ fun
Examples :
مَطْبَخٌ --------- maT’bakhun
When (ا /ي/و) don’t have (al-Harrakat), that means they’re rise sounds for example :
كِتَابٌ ------ كِ+تَ+ا+بٌ -------- ki+ta+aa+bun ------- kitaabun.
Something else :
ا must be using with (َ َ ) , they’re friends lol.and
ي with (ِ ) و with (ُ ). Look at this example :
طَاوِلَةٌ ----- Taawilatun
وَسِيمٌ ------- wasiimun
مَكْتُوبٌ ----- mak’tuubun
2/ the second part it’s about the punctuation in Arabic,
Well, the punctuation in arabic is so important, and it’s the same in English and the other languages.Now, I want to explain something else, it’s about (a-ttanwiin) with the ponctuation, I will use this example to have look I think ;
مَطْبَخٌ --------- maT’bakhun
مَطْبَخٌ. ------- maT’bakh’.
Another one :
مَكْتُوبٌ ----- mak’tuubun
مَكْتُوبٌ. ----- mak’tuub’. (and after !? : ; ...)
This rule it’s special in the pronunciation, actually they’re the same word, but the pronunciation in final which changes.
3/the notation of « bb,hh,HH,jj..... » (a-shshaddah)
You rememeber all on the second lesson, I was talking about the strong sounds in Arabic, it has making rule,
It’s (ّ ) ,we use it to mean that letter pronounces a little strong than normal pronunciation.
For example :
مُعَلِّمٌ ----- muAallimun (a teacher)
I finish now, and be happy, because next lesson,we will learn Arabic as well, because these lessons, they can help you in the pronunciation.Actually, next time I will share another song it’s in Egyptian dialect, between us I like this accent so much in arabic, it’s more lovely haha.Hope I see you again .
Keep working !
Check this website, that will help you to practice your pronunciation, and remember everything about the rule sounds in Arabic.
