Have you ever heard the words "Sky Tree"? It's no more a tree, but an iconic tower in Tokyo, Japan. Now the newly-constructing tower has been recognized as the world's tallest tower on Guinness World Records. I'd like to tell you about the soon-to-be-completed tower in Tokyo and its cerebration, referring to a newspaper article I have read.
According to the December second issue of the English newspaper Shukan ST, which is for the language learners, an award ceremony was held at a hotel in the capital's Koto Ward the other day, where the tower is also located.
The 634-meter tower is due to open to the public May 22, 2012, while the construction has started since July, 2008. The famous tourist spot serves as TV broadcasting tower, too.
Meanwhile, the tallest skyscraper in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the article added.
In my view, when the tall tower is opened next year, it will be one of the must-see tourist spots as many people visit there. If you have a chance to visit Tokyo, why don't you check it out.
