I wondered how to interpret the timestamp which is shown with the posts, because I was curious about the local time a user had written a post. Todd, our webmaster, explains to me:

"It's by server time in the U.S. eastern time zone, and written in U.S. format (mm/dd/yy)"
Which should currently be EDT= GMT/UTC -4
On my screen I see the format displayed as (DDD, mm/dd/yy - hh:mm), which is just fine.

But when I try to convert a time stamp of some post to my time or the user's local time, it does not work out for me. Some posts seem to have been written in the future. I'll try test cases and will come back here.

I just saw the time stamp of this post and it is displaying exactly my local time! ???

It would be very helpful if many readers would write a small comment, and please type your local time inside the comment. Thanks!
