This is the way we are going to work:
- The first 30 min. my students will interact with you in English. They will have some questions about personal information and about your country.
- The final 30 min you will be able to interact with my students in Spanish.

El español de Colombia es el mejor? Daniel Samper se da a la tarea de responder a esta inquietud
La Feria del Libro de Guadalajara, que acaba de celebrarse en México, tuvo a Colombia como invitado especial; una de sus curiosidades se refiere a nuestro dominio del castellano.
Muy a menudo a los colombianos nos preguntan: "¿Es verdad que ustedes hablan el mejor español del mundo?" Fue, exactamente, el interrogante que me lanzó una revista mexicana a raÃz de que Colombia fue el paÃs invitado a la Feria Internacional del Libro que se celebró entre el 24 de noviembre y el 2 de diciembre.
Le expliqué a la revista que las respuestas posibles se clasifican en tres escuelas:
1) La escuela narcicista, que contesta de manera desvergonzada "sÃ, es verdad". Resulta aconsejable que quienes optan por tan tajante y soberana afirmación procuren ser breves, porque podrÃan enredarse en las faldas de su propia respuesta. Sé de un antiguo ministro algo pomposo que, enseguida de aceptar con fruición el aserto, agregó que ello se debÃa en buena parte a la labor educativa de su gobierno, pues antes "hubieron otros que no se preocuparon tanto por el buen uso del español".
2) La escuela de la modesta flor, que niega con sonrojo la pregunta, pues profesa normas de cortesÃa que impiden aceptar la alabanza en causa propia.
3) La escuela ecléctica, que parece decir que no, pero dice que sÃ.
Yo pertenezco a esta última. Al oÃr la pregunta, amago con sorprenderme, finjo un poco de embarazo y ofrezco por todo comentario una sonrisa que pretende ser humilde. Pero que en ningún momento niega el contenido del interrogante.
En realidad, la mejor respuesta la dio hace años José Antonio León Rey, el profesor colombiano que fue delegado por América Latina ante sus colegas de la Real Academia de la Lengua Española.

I´m so happy to have received your letter. I think the sports camp is a wonderful idea becouse as you know I love doing exercise and practising sports. Have I ever told you my favourite sport is basketball?
Anyway, my back is thirty-six years old (as me!) and sometimes it hurts me, so I would prefer to sleep in rooms better than tents, if it is possible.
Ah! About the cooking I can say thatit will be an honout to me to cook a delightful spanish ommelette for you. All we have to buy for the ommelette are potatoes, onion, eggs and olive oil. I'm sure you will enjoy that typical spanish course.
Before going to the camp I will like to do some tourism in Toronto. You know I still don't know your city and I guess you will be a terrific tourist guide for me. Only one compulsory visit: an NBA Raptors game, please. I haven´t checked the dates and the scheduled games but it would be incredible to see my fellow countryman Pau Gasol playing with the Lakers in Toronto.
