When I was a child, I used to go outside through a year, all seasons. In spring, I would pick up wild plants which are called Gyoujya-ninniku, Katakuri, Udo and something like that. In summer, I would go to a mountain to catch insects like beetles, stag beetles, cicadas and so on. And I would go fishing and catching shrimps in a river or a pond. In fall, I would go catching chestnuts, walnuts, black grapes, mashrooms and so on. In winter, I used to go skiing, play baseball and soccer in snow. I would not almost stay home in those days. I would have my parents worry to get back home late and I would often be scoled by my mother. What I had been absorbing in the wild is very good memories for me now.

小学生の頃、季節を問わず陽のある時間は、とにかく外で遊んでいました。春はアイヌネギや片栗などの山菜捕り、夏は少年野球をはじめ、休みの日には山へクワガタ・カブトムシやセミを捕りに行ったり、川で釣りをしたり、沼エビを捕ったり、秋にはキノコや栗などを捕りに行ったり、冬はスキーや雪中サッカーといった具合で家の中にいることがほとんどなかったと思います。帰宅時間が遅く親を心配させ、叱られたことも度々でした。自然の中で夢中になれたことは今でもいい思い出です。
