How many times do I have to prove it to myself?

Websites and srevices like this are useless. You're supposed to find language partners here but you won't.

Merely because their audience is very little, and the having Russian being the target language it is a 1-percent chance. I want to share with you my experience of Mixxer, which concept might be good by itself.

But in reality it just doesn't work for Russians. Reason one being the fact that Russian isn't the most popular languagу to learn, at all. It is obvious that the language sought by Americans the most is Spanish - which makes perfect sense - with all the Spanish-speaking population around them - Americans just want to be able to whisper in Spanish at night on a backstreet: Please, hombre, I don't want no trouble, man, por favor, just take the damn wallet and the phone, I don't wanna be cut!

Hot on its heels is Japanese, of course, which also makes sense - Americans being the most porn-watching nation. Those submissive cute girls with their huge eyes are undeniable. For the same reason French is third, and Russian somewhere in the same ballpark. Which should be a good thing although it's not. 

Americans who are dying to find a Russian partner for language-exchange-making are mostly a blithe bevy of anthropomorphized stags over 30 nearing their 40s.

Surprises me what really really bad is: there are... women who make a profile. It says language native English, language sought Russian. Says to call them on their Skypу number. Even has a most touching comprehensive description I'd even say a novel about their yearning for the Russian language.

Upon being contacted they say hello, thank you, of course, welcome, keep in touch, feel free, call, though I don't have a microphone, and have to go right now.
