Delivery..

先頃、手紙をもらった。 Recently I got a letter.
小包は、配達をするつまりって。It said that a delivery service is trying to deliver me a package.
「小包？買い物をしなかった！」と言った。"Package? I didn't buy anything!" , I said.
電話をした。道具がある、と言った。I called them, and they told that it was a tool..
「道具？！」 って。A tool?!
考えた、考えた。思い出した！I took me a while to remember..
矢っ張り! 一年前に、道具買った。プレゼンと を友達にもらいたかった。But they were right.. A year(!) ago I ordered a tool. I planned to present it to my friend.
小包を持ってきた。持ってきた男は、
「ごめんなさい、2月７日に持ってくなかってはいけまし。7日間以上かけた。」と言った。
The guy who delivered the package said: "Sorry, the package was due on February seventh, it took us 7 days more"
私は、 一年と7日間以上かけた、と言わなかった。 I didn't tell him that they were 1 year and 7 days late.

Self-grammar-study
Today realized that completely forgot that negative form of くる（来る） is こない。Shame on me!
So I decided to get some kind of practice with new grammar topics.Today I am studying "4.7 Using する and なる with the に particle" from japanese grammar guide. So will try to practice this topic.
So なる means become and is used with に。
来年、学生になる I think means I will become a student next year.
先年、学生になる。 I became a student last year.
する is a bit more interesting. The book says に changes the meaning of 「する」 to mean,
"to decide on [X]".
Like 私は、コーヒーにします。 I'll have coffee
彼が、強いくなったね。 He became stronger、ね.
The following example from the book is completely confusing:
(1) 海外に行くことになった。 - It's been decided that I will go abroad.
I would translate it as I've started studying abroad (lit. It became the event of going abroad.)
And also I don't understand why 行くこと, but 食べるよう
こと - a generic event よう - an appearance/manner. Why 行くこと is event, but 食べるよう is manner?? o_O
