I have a son who is a second grader in elementary school. He likes various kinds of cartoons as he watches them after arriving at home. One of his favorite these days is "Tom and Jerry." Even though we don't subscribe to any cable television or other pay television except to NHK (Japan's public broadcaster), we can watch it anytime. It's Wii, a gaming console produced by Nintendo, a Japanese manufacturer.

On their menus, Wii has a feature what they call "Internet Channel." We can connect to the Internet through the devise and go to Youtube. Surprisingly, there are many Tom and Jerry entries on the video-sharing site. My son enjoys a lot from one to another.

And the reason why I posted about the cartoon was because I also used to watch almost the same series as a child. I'm grad that my son and his younger brother watch and laugh at never-ever-changing stories. Because of no difficult wording on the cartoon but with exaggerated actions, my kids and other Japanese children are familiar to the American classic, from the past, today and hopefully to the future.
