I think it is absolutely incredible there are websites available for people networking for the sake of learning a foreign language. I stumbled on The Mixxer through a link on Open Learning Initiative, which is basically a free university where I'm studying several courses, including French.
I took Elementary Spanish my second semester in college, and I scored a "B." The problem is however I do not understand Spanish or speak a word of it. Before I graduate I will have to take Spanish Composition, which means that I must start all over and study the fundamentals of Spanish again. My only other alternative to this is enrolling in a new course for beginners in another language, such as French. The course in French I'm taking online at OLI is not for college credit. I am only taking it so I can receive college credit when I CLEP out of French I.
Now that I am aware of social networking websites as The Mixxer, I sincerely hope they can benefit me by learning both Spanish and French. The drawback studying a language in college is that there are time constraints involved. A semester is less than four months, and because you may not be able to engage with others speaking the language, you forget EVERYTHING.
I will try my best to help anyone here learning English. I hope to communicate with individuals aiming to sharpen his or her English Grammar Skills, and meet those individuals who can aid me perfecting my French & Spanish Grammar!
