I’m not sure we have the same law in Japan. My country is undeveloped about cyber law especially internet. The law is important to protect us from unwilling articles and photos posted by someone on internet. Internet can be accessed by the general public all over the world, and anyone can post messages, photos, movies the person wants like a facebook. There is a possibility that bad rumore and criticism are easily generated and widespread on the web while we don’t realize them. These are libel, and it is the same as conventional medias such as newspaper and T.V.
Have you heard the words “revenge porn”? It is that the one who got dumped by ex-boy/girlfriend posts his/her naked photos taken when they were lovers without his/her permission in order to revenge the ex-partner. This is an example. It is important for everyone to make a rule in every society so as to be safe and comfortable. In this case, it is the cyber crime law.
On the other hand, what its disadvantage came to mind is that we may be accused by what we post that we don’t intend to insult someone or company. Moreover, cunning people may take advantage of this low for making consolation money by accusing someone on purpose. If these occurred, we couldn’t express our feeling liberally by posting on a internet. We must be more careful more than before.
