My first working day

Body

I've finally started my first day at work. I must say it was kind of chaotic. To summarize what I have to do: I'm basically contacting drivers to check if they're doing their deliveries without issues and report it. This job usually have situations where you have to be fast and careful at the same time, but once you get used to it, it becomes quite easy.

I really appreciate and admire those people who can keep a positive attitude in front of bad moments. I realised how important and impacting is to keep a good behaviour in your enviroment. I hope to continue learning as much as I did in my first workday.

the topic of G1 test in Japan

Body

The topics of writing in G1 test is too hard for me because I don't think of that kind of topics in daily life.

Here's an example.

The topic in the test I took last time was "Should investment in technology be a bigger priority for governments?"

And you need write it with 200-250 words.

I guess it is not too hard for people who have a higher education but I hardly write especially in English.

Anyway I wrote for about 150 words sentences and I got 50/100

The lowest pass line would be 70/100.

I need a lot of writing exercise.

Plastic free future

Body

The reduction of plastic usage has been taking into consideration in many years, more and more people start to realize the importance of the plastic-free. For instance, many measurement has been carrying out in China since several years ago.

In order to cultivating the awareness of plastic free, the young has been educated to bring recycle bag instead of buying plastic bag in store. More and more stores stops to provide plastic bag free of charge to encourage people to use recycle bag. Moreover, some NGO also invite some volunteers to take part in the activity for protect the beach and mountain via clean the platic garbage, which has become more and more popular in the young. This activity not only protect the enviorment but also creat a opportunity to meet different people.

We hope more and more peoples will take action in protecting the plant through reducing the plastic pollution.

You wanna be like a sheep?

Body

Unlike many hip-hop heads, I was never a huge fan of Brian De Palma's Scarface (I very much prefer Carlito's Way for that matter). That said, ever since I visited Cuba in 2011, there is a scene in that movie that really resonates with me: the moment when Tony Montana describes life under communism and asks his main interlocutor the question I used as title for this post.

It is obvious to me that many people, if not most, do want to be like sheep and, as far as I'm concerned, it is their most absolute right. I guess life is much easier when you don't ask yourselves too many questions, when you don't think too much and just follow what society and religious or political authorities tell you. The problem is when sheeplike people infringe on others' individual rights or support governments who do.

Having visited both countries, I totally understand why, for over sixty years now, so many Cubans have left their island and gone to the United States. Aside from Assata Shakur, I haven't heard of many Americans doing the opposite trip.

Today, I really laugh when I see certain American artists parade as rebels, when we all know their right to free speech is protected and when some claim to be oppressed in the U.S, call it a police state, all the while showing appreciation for the Cuban regime. In contrast, I have a lot of admiration for Cuban artists who speak out against it, especially when they still live over there.

In 1980, Fidel Castro delivered a speech in which he basically told those who didn't support the revolution they could leave. Part of that speech was used at the beginning of Scarface.

Today, when I see people, especially youths, in France or in the U.S. rooting for socialism/communism, I really feel like suggesting they learn Spanish and move to Cuba.

Ernesto "Che" Guevara, whom many of them idolize, was an Argentinian, yet he fought a revolution in Cuba and died trying to start another one in Bolivia. Many French and American leftists claim to be internationalists and very often support open borders, but somehow, it only seems to work one way: it is always about letting more people in, never about them leaving. How about we try the latter for a change?

Body

I am pleased to apply for a study permit through the SDS program and I am submitting my application because my goal is to pursue a two years post graduate diploma in Computer Studies on X College, that will start at May 20, 2022. My goal with this program is to complete my technological training and enhance and update my resume, which will be necessary to give a boost to our family business in Colombia and develop new business opportunities both nationally and internationally.

I’m an industrial engineer, and completed my degree in 2000. While completing my bachelor degree, I took programming and design courses which made me think widely about my work expectations. Through the years, I have become very interested in software engineering, and have studied additional courses about graphic design, programming web pages, and making animations.

Additionally, I have worked on small work projects in these areas. In 2005 I applied for a Master degree in a University from Spain, where they and the Colombian government gave me a scholarship in order to make my dream come true. The program was an MBA with E-Business Specialization. After that Master I was able to work in managing web and educational projects and after years I, with my husband, we made our own business where we besides doing web projects, we sold technology devices including workstations, notebooks, netbooks, desktops pcs and nets devices. Also, I had the opportunity to be the community manager of an important multinational company, where I worked as a freelancer. After that, a series of political and economic events in our country along with the growth of our family make me do a pause and I only made small projects, but I want to resume my path again.

With the diploma in Computer Studies my objective is to acquire more technical skills with practical applications in computer systems, complementing and making stronger the manager (or administrative) background which I have been involved during last years. More practical skills will also help me to have wider business ideas that our country would need about different fields like education, agriculture training, social issues to be resolved, between others.  Finally, I wish with the technical knowledge that I will gain, I could help my team in building well organized and innovative projects and take better technological decisions about the requirements of our clients.

I choose X College due to good recommendations, the excellent reputation the institution have, and good connections with the companies of Vancouver, that make me be sure about the actualization of the programs and languages because they need to be aligned with the industry actual necessities. X is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, where many technology corporations are being held, developing and growing.

I have the support of my family in this project, because we are very united and I consider they will also grow with the experience, because my husband, who I married 17 years ago, has technology experience as well and he will have the opportunity, if you give him the permission, to work in the field, in order to benchmark knowledge that will help our business once we return. Fortunately, most of our current clients in our country can be attending virtually while we are having this experience. Although we are aware we are going to lose some clients, the experience that we will have, will be a catapult in order to get more once we arrive in our country again. Our 16 and 9 years old sons, will also accompany us to this trip. Our goal is they can improve their English skills, they can know better another advanced culture, and have a growth intellectually, emotionally and socially.

This study project, that is a family project will be held thanks to the resources that we saved during all these years, product of our hard work of our company. We owned two accounts in our bank, where we have the following saldo:

Bank 1 saving account No.   with

Bank2 saving account  No.   with

We have also a deposit of 10 CAD in the CIBC bank and I paid for a year ahead of the college payment.

I have travel to other countries like Spain. and other countries of the European union like France and Belgium while I was studying the master. Also, I with my family went to Argentina for vacations eight years ago and we always abide by the rules of the hosted country. Unfortunately, I was denied for a tourist USA visa in the year 2003 and I didn’t ask for it again. We also had the same study project 6 years ago, but in that time, we were going to New Zealand. Everybody was ready and they gave me all the visas and permissions required for my husband and kids. But the destiny had another project for us, and sadly we declined because a family calamity. We are happy our project came alive again and we have the possibility to follow our dream. We hope to give better prospects to our business once we arrive to Colombia after the two years of study, and bring with us a lot of new knowledges and benchmarkings of a first developed country.

Body

I have got an English test for English learners called STEP.

It have 7 grades and the 1st grade id the best.

I got the 1st Grade in last month and failed.

There are four sections on it.

Those are vocabularies, readings, writing and listening.

You need to take 70% of each.

The result I took last time was almost 50%.

I felt I need much more effort to be able to read and write freely and fluently.

Maybe I need to make time for studying English.
