Smartphones. A great invention?

Many people today don't just have a mobile phone, they have a smartphone like an iPhone or a BlackBerry. But is it a great invention? I think there are both advantages and disadvantages.

The first advantage is that a smartphone is almost a computer where you can do many operations online or checking your mail while you're waiting or going in the bus or taxi. Secondly, you have a lot of gadgets in only one device, for example, the mobile phone,  a digital camera, a lantern, an alarm clock, a digital map, a storage memory, a GPS, a router or a radio. Thirsly, you can instal differnt applications to enjoy, to work and to communicate, for instance, a game, a track map for trekking, a calendar or a chat.

But on the other hand, one major disadvantage of having a smartphone is that it can produce dependence feeling when you are more than 15 minutes without using it. In addition, they are more delicate than mobile phones, because the battery runs faster and they can be infected by a virus. Also, is more difficult if you have a smartphone because you recibe your messages, mails and chats in real time.

In conclusion, a smatphone is a great tool, but weshould be careful using it because of the addiction to use it all the time. I think that a child doesn't need a smartphone, on the contrary, a business person without a smartphone is unrealistic.
