Today we visited a childhood school which has only two classrooms and, when we entered in one of these two, suddenly the children started to sing their songs to welcome us. All of us were amazed and excited by this warm reception, and we spoke to them and gave them some pencils. When they had their pause and ate their porridge, we stood with them and started to play all together in circle. These children are very active and lively, full of energy and also very curious about us, the white people. Every child we met – but also the oldest people – stared at us with their mouth opened, like if we’re something they have never seen. Then we went at the beach, in which we could enjoy a beautiful contrast between the green color of the forest surrounding the sea and the long expanse of white and thin sand, very soft at the touch. The sea was agitated so we couldn’t have bath, but the beautiful view of the landscape made us so happy that we didn’t mind about swimming. That afternoon was so magical because the beach was desolate, although it was a unique beauty; the waves of the sea were reflected in the blue but cloudy sky, and the vastness of the beach had as background a landscape of palms and exotic trees only rarely interrupted by wooden houses, perfect in that context. Every step we took we felt welcomed by that land with warmth and love, almost as if the sand we stepped on could give us shelter and affection, and the sea in front of us joy and inner peace. At the sunset, we walked around the village enjoying the last hours of light, this latter has helped too to give us relaxation and peace.

I started missing my boyfriend Davide, but I know I must pass over this negative sensation because, first of all, I know I can’t have him here but, most important, I can't let negative emotions to touch me either. I dreamt positive dreams,. And this gave me the energy to talk a lot with my group till late.
