PLEASE DON'T CORRECT THIS TEXT UNLESS YOU ARE A NATIVE SPEAKER. God’s love towards his enemies surpasses human comprehension. The most unconditional sort of love that I can imagine is that of a mother for his children. However, the sad reality of life is that even a mother can forget her children and even hate them. The Bible tells us: ““Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15). God sent these words to Israel when Israel was being extremely rebellious and wicked, and yet he reminded them that he loved them more than a mother loves his child. This is the sort of unconditional love that God feels towards mankind. Now, if God loves mankind unconditionally, does that mean that he will not punish anyone for his transgressions? No. God would still punish us for our transgressions because although he is perfectly loving he is also perfectly just, and perfect justice demands the punishment of the wicked. Then why is it important to know that God loves everyone? First of all, because it reveals the perfect nature of God. The Bible teaches us that God is worthy of being worshipped not only because he is almighty, or because he created us, but also because he is morally perfect. Secondly, it helps us to seek forgiveness from God because we know that we are not approaching someone who hates us, but someone who loves us even more than our own father and mother, someone who will never reject us if our repentance is sincere. I encourage you to keep learning about God by studying the Bible with us on Thursday evenings. I can assure you that the more you learn about the God of the Bible, the more you will know that he is worthy of praise and worship. Thank you for your attention.
