Yesterday at the emergency room, I begged somebody to help me. The doctor came and ordered me to calm down and he demanded to know what the problem was. I answered him that I had difficulties breathing. Then he commanded me to lay down on the bed and ordered the nurse to bring oxygen. The nurse did it immediately and while the doctor was putting me the oxygen mask he asked me to describe more symptoms that I was experienced. I didn’t notice until he asked me that I couldn’t help scratching the rush on my back, so I told him. I saw his astonished face demanding the nurse to bring quickly an epinephrine shot.
Fortunately, she was so efficient and bring it in seconds. The doctor warned me to relax again and try to breathe because he was going to inject me epinephrine. I was panicked! But a few minutes later I could breathe again, that was a relief… I was embarrassed for all the episode so I explained to the doctor that I was panicked as soon as I experienced difficulty in breathing. He was so nice to me and explained to me that I had an anaphylactic shock.
I was surprised because I had never been allergic to anything and never had an episode like this, but he told me that everyone can develop an allergy out of the blue. Then he requested me to remember something strange that I had in contact with. At first, I couldn’t remember anything but then I remembered my first day yesterday at work as an animal groomer, and I thought in all the fur that I had contact with. Because of that, he suggested being away from animals while I got the results of the exams that will determine the nature of my allergy. And that was all the anecdote! I guess I have to find a new job…
