I am writing in regard to your advertisement for a temporary position as a local guide, which was publicated in the local newspaper ‘Tximeleta’. I feel confident that the experience would be very useful in my future career.

I have recently finished my second year of History at university and I am excited with the idea of putting into practice what I have learned until now. I believe that my skills for finding relevant and trustworthy sources of information would be extremely positive, as well as my overall knowledge of history. I am also interested in learning more about my city, in which I have lived all my life, and, as I want to be a teacher in the future, practicing people and teaching skills. This concrete job would be perfect for me, as adapting the tour for the needs of a small group is easier.

Moreover, I have personal experience with guiding. My aunt is a guide in Paris and she often seeks my opinion about the historical accuracy of her scripts. She knows a lot about the subject, but, as I am a history enthusiast since I was little, she considers me a valuable critic. Also, I love to explain things to my little brother and I have a strong teaching vocation. For these reasons, I believe that I am an ideal candidate for the job as a local guide.
