Everyone have his/her preferences. As it is said: Everyone to his/her own taste. 

Beach or mountain? It is a typical question about preferences. And you can know how is someone in terms of her/his tastes. In general, people who chose the beach is more sociable. They like the realx time, meeting with people for a drink and the party. On teh other hand, people who like the mountain is used to be more athlete and calm. They love the nature and usually have animals. 

There are people who like living in a city and other ones who prefet to live in a village. A lot of people like better living in a city because they want to  have more facilities within reach: shops, supermarkets, cinema, restaurants... But there are other people who perfer the calm village. They usually are families so they can be with more freedom in the street (beuase there is no traffic), they go to the park with the kids,...

Fish or meat? Beer or wine? Pop or rock? Sweet or salty? Cat or dog? Nobody is similar and everyone has his/her own prefreneces. It is a diverse society and not for this reason we do not have to get alone well with each other. Unlike poles attract each other. ;)
