I read this book 2 months ago. Like other Julio Verne stories, it is about a journey. The story begins with Edward Glenarvan an aristocratic who found a distress note from Harry Grant. Soon after that he meet their children, Robert and Mary. He made the decision of looking for the capian across the sea with his wife, the kids and a clueless man, in a yatch know as duncan. The book is very detailed about the animals, geography and history of every place that the crew visit and i like that. Also, some characters, like Paganel are funny or interesting. The travel itself is interesting because it give several kinds of obstacles and misteries to the main cast. My main problems with the history are that at times it lost the focus narrating other stories and almost all deductions about the distress note are wrong, so the 80% of the travel feel pointless.
