I believe computers are a great innovation. They have brought to people more benefits than disadvantages. Computers have reduced the time of writing or preparing documents. Before the computer was created, people had to spend a lot of hours just typing a document. I remember when I was a kid, I used to write my essays or homework in my typewriter. I could spend hours just making one page. Just one simple mistake or putting the wrong letter in a word was enough to force a person to write the same page again. People needed to think about how the document was going to be, make a lot of drafts, and be sure of what exact words to put in the document. Now, this has changed, you can change your document as many times as you need. Computers give the chance to connect people with their loved ones in an easy manner. Forty years ago, people have to buy expensive phone plans just to make an international call. One of my uncles told me that when he came to the US, he just had 15 minutes to talk with his mom every once per week. That was really expensive and people had to go to specific places to make a phone call. Now, this has changed. People just opened the laptop inside their homes, go to Skype, and make a video call to their family members. They do not just talk with them but, actually, they can look at them in real time. This is amazing!Computers are an excellent tool to study and to do research. Computers are an advantage for people who like to learn by themselves, for autodidacts. With Web pages as YouTube, people can just learn from making soap to how to operate complex software. The information is there. People do not have to go to the libraries anymore for learning. Nowadays, Internet has amazing databases that you can consult and learn about something in specific.
