The day of the dead is celebrated in November 2. According to the leyend, the deceased return to visit their families. The relatives take care of build an altar in which they include objects and food that the deceased enjoyed in life. The altar itself have a big meaning, because it is believed that it helps the deceased to take a good path during the death. Many of these are considered truly works of art.

In Mexico we make sugar skulls, each one with the name of a person; they are given as gifts. These also are part of the offering ornament that are made in honor of the deceased.
