Hi again!

As I've been doing for a couple of times, I'm going to write a new page of a kind of a diary so that I can practice my writing skills.

Today I'm going to talk or write about architecture.

I've been dealing with a lot of exams recently, and unlike my classmates, I try to learn more than memorize. So I have noticed how many beautiful buildings we can see around the globe. More than that, I have noticed how many beautiful and ancient, unique, building we are surrounded by.

And this is the point - we don't see the real especial pieces that actually matters. We have reconstructed the original ruins of a beautiful work because this way we can "recreate" the atmosphere, the dimensions, and so on... But we are missing the history. We are missing how a volcano covered the whole city of Pompeii, or how the sea gobbled up the Alexandria city. 

Now, remains of those cities are located in modern museums, taken apart from the original atmosphere, from the authentic work, from the initial piece.

How real can a piece be when having been taken away from its place?

Another thing I have taken account of is how useless is to restore SOME buildings. Take the example of Santiago de Compostela cathedral. As it has a baroque facade, the upper zone should be darker than the base part due to the rain, the type of stone and the sinuous style that is resign to the entire exterior body. But now, with the recent restorement, this degradation has disappear. Is it magic? No! Is it the greenhouse effect? No! Is it due to gremlins? No! 

It is because a full team of non-professional employees are unable to recreate the effect generated in this type of buildings. Move to every single area of Europe, and focus your attention in every details of their baroque facades, and you will see how magically they turn to develop regarding their colous, lights and shadows, and their degraded due to corrosion.
