Dear Sir/Madam, We own a ductless fume hood that is equipped with two carbon filters. These carbon filters have been specially designed to adsorb both organic solvents and acids. We have replaced our carbon filters today and we would like to know what would be the best way to dispose of them. The filters are three years old. According to our records they have been used for approximately 60 hours. We normally work with acetic acid, methanol, acetone, and ethanol. So, basically, these are the chemicals that are more likely to be adsorbed onto our used filters. Could you please recommend a disposal procedure for these filters? Thank you. Best regards, X.
