For most students, during high school, the most important thing is the popularity or the widespread acceptance. For this reason, in every group of friends there is actually one "DUFF" (Designated Ugly Fat Friend). It´s the person in a social group who is less popular, the one who is "ugly" or "fat". Although Bianca is not very appealing, she never imagined that people would call her "DUFF" and for the same reason she takes her anger out on Jess and Casey.

In order to stop being a DUFF and to call Toby´s attention (the guy who she has a crush), Bianca asks her handsome boyhood friend, Wes, for help desperate to change her social standing.

Throughout this process Bianca realized that the physical appearance does not represent everything, it is the attitude that define one interpersonal relations- either towards other people or towards oneself.

The main reason why I recommend you this movie is to tell you that Bianca has gone through pains and overcome different difficulties besides how people who surround her only care her inner nature and not her physical appearance or actions. You can see in the movie that she tries to overcome her shyness in different ways, for example pleasing a guy, this act of "bravery" is only to make the movie more entertaining to watch.

Apart from that, remember that we do not want you to become someone else, because you would be tired with running about, and pretend being someone else will not last for ever. How you want to be tried is the way you have to try others first. Show the best of you and people will like you!
