It was a warm afternoon in April, with vacations around the corner and just the final tests left you could feel that the lunch break would last longer than usual as there weren’t many things to do. The break had just started and you could notice it because of the intense smell of the food, a smell so concentrated that you could almost touch it, the lines of people were just starting to gather at the front of the school kitchen. That year a new system in which you had to pass a card was implemented but poorly failed due to people losing the cards which created another line to go by before getting food. You could hear the stampede of kids coming by the hundreds of steps and the loud chatter as well. The seats were disorganized and had some food on them like the tables, all because little kids ate their food there before and a quick cleaning wasn’t enough to clear all from food to food, but the smell became more tolerable as you went away from the kitchen and went from the part with a roof to the outside part, in which you usually could find some wind along with insects and nearby water sprinkles water. Each day it was almost the same, except for some days in which they placed a scenario for people to sing or the days they carried away tables to who knows where and you had to eat elbow to elbow.
