The lack of fresh water is an issue which is affecting the entire world’s societies because each year rises up the amount of persons who have not access to the vital liquid. This situation has gained especial consideration by the political and social leaders of all countries because this topic has different impacts depending on the geographical conditions of each country and each region.

The shortage of fresh water is causing the death of animals and of people too, there are many regions in Asia and Africa which its population is suffering this illness. And the lack of fresh water can stop or contracting the industries of food production like agriculture and meat production. This would be a disaster in an overpopulated world which needs to produce millions of tons of food.

Whereas there are many countries where the lack of fresh water is a very severe issue, there are others, as countries in South America, where this fluid is abundant and the people who live in these countries are not completely aware about the long term consequences that could have an irrational use of fresh water.

So, the key to overcome this problem is to make people know about the drastic consequences that the scarcity can trigger. Mainly in countries where, nowadays, are not being totally affected by this problem and, his people, could have an irrational use of water. Another program that could be interesting to promote, is the development of technologies, which could allow a more efficient way to processing salad water to fresh water.
