Our subject was talking about Mnemiopsis leidyi. This species is very beautiful and I very happy to learn more on it. It very dangerous and invasive because It can eat whithout saciety and it can reproduce very quickly ! So it eat all of plankton, which is at the base of food chain. Daulphin and fish are very impact to that.

M. leidyi live in the sea and look like a jelly fish. It's not a same family yet. M. Leidyi is a Ctenophora, not a Cniderian.

It is very small, a few centimeters, transparent with a lot cilia. Cilia can move very quickly and this speed beak down the light, giving them a iridescent color.

This species have predators but this predators is a fish and M. leidyi eat a larvea fish, so eat its predators when them a baby. It's a vicious circle.

Few idea of solution exist for beat this invasion. But il's very difficult to put that in place efficiently.
