Hi everyone! For this essay, I had to write about what was more important to me: Money or free time?. The exercise asked me to explain, giving reasons for my choice. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it! It is said that money can't buy happiness. Yet, it is hard to name someone who doesn't want it. For some people, money is their main life goal. For others, having time for themselves is their top one priority. If people were to choose, which one should prevail: Money or time? First of all, time is a resource that once it's gone one can't ever get it back, the same doesn't apply to money. Secondly, having more free time reflects positively in all fields of life, including personal, social and even professional. Besides, more time can result in many different benefits, which sometimes might bring money as a consequence (e.g., one being able to work more productively because they're not burned out). On the other hand, money provides dignity in terms of affording a good life. Granted it is good to have time, if people are not able to do anything good with it because they can't afford, time per se is not that interesting. Also, money, in general, has a direct connection to work, which might provide a sense of purpose in people's lives. All things considered, once people have secured or reached a certain economical condition, time should be more important. One shouldn't focus solely on getting money or they may find themselves with an abundance of it, but no time to enjoy it. Neither should they look only for free time, without securing some basic conditions for themselves and their loved ones. The question evokes the idea of finding balance in life and, by no means, it should be a matter of picking one to the detriment of the other.
