Some people say that the door which opens the entrance to the unconscious mind is secured by a woman. If you look in detail one of the tarot cards, card number three specifically, you will find the high priestess. She is a woman who wears a blue and white tunic. She is sat in a portal with two columns. The left column is white representing the female side of the Self. The opposite column is black which shows the male side. She is in between both pillars as a mediator of the duality of the Self. The symbolism of the color of her clothes represents the mixed between innocence, purity, and enlightenment. She is holding a crescent moon with her feet projecting the idea that she is guided by her intuition and she is aware of mysteries that are unseen by simple natural observation or logic. I am not familiar in knowing how the mystics came up with the conclusion of placing at the high priestess between the conscious and unconscious realms, but what I am sure about is that I dreamed with her last night. There was a tan woman with native american facial features, probably a Mayan woman of 40 years old. She was wearing a simple white long dress and her hair was tied with two braids, one each side of her head. I was observing her in my dream. We were stood on an unpaved road in the middle of the jungle. The road was boarding a high mountain. In the right side of the road, I observed a huge beautiful carved door made of wood. The door was against the slope of the mountain. At the front side of the door, it was a cliff facing a river or the sea, I am not sure about it. Someone passed close to her and she opens the wooden door with her hand letting to that person to get into the room. That room or a cave looked similar to a temple. There were a lot of white candles lighting the darkness of the place. As similar to the Catholic churches, the candles were placed over golden stands all over the place. I couldn't see any images of saints or Catholic figures, but what I can recall is perceiving a sense of holiness from that room. Suddenly, this woman closed the door of that room when I was observing it from outside. I never asked her for permission in letting me get in. However, I recall saying to myself: "I want to be there, I want to be in Veracruz, Mexico."
