I'm taking summer intensive class about interior design at university. This class is kind of tough, because my class is from Monday to Thursday, and we have heavy assignments every class. But to learn interior design is my purpose to come to NY, I'm very enjoying my class. Today, we went to the Metroporitan Museum(MET) for field work. The MET is one of the biggest museum in the world, because they have all kind of work of art. My teacher explained some backgrounds about the works. It was very interesting for me, Because I didn't study design, so my point of view changed. I have liked to go to museums, but I was not interested in some works like Alab interior. That was very beautiful, but they don't relate my life in Japan. My teacher told me the background and concept, Finally I understand the beauty. I thought to study design is to know the background and concept. And the MET opened exhibition about fashion. The name is "MANUS×MACHINA". This means hand made and machine made. We can see a lot of clothes. This exhibition was so amazing and gorgeous. The interior design is like a church. The wedding dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel is set at a central cocoon. And the detail of its embroidery was projected on the ceiling with beautiful music. I felt like i was in another world. I strongly recommend you go to the exhibition:)
