Nowadays, many Japanese people make much of learning English. Students start to study English from 12-13 under a compulsory education system. There is a opinion that they should start it from elementary school. To enter a company, people often need TOEIC scores if they don't have to use English. Actually if you are good at English, you can get a great benefit due to English skills. However I think students spend too much their time for English. I work part-time as a tutor. I recognized a student who is not good at learning is poor at Japanese skill. One day a student of mine asked me that he couldn't understand a sentence in Japanese and I teached him that meaning. So, his Japanese reading skills was not good. I think students should more study Japanese before studying Ennglish. Even a adult man sometimes mistake in Japanese. Don't many Japanese people overlook importance of mother language?
