Dear Dr. Pérez: We hereby express our interest in participating in the project “Building a House with a 3D printer”. We are willing to implement activities defined in the guideline of the project. The research team from Bogotá will be led by Dr. Robert Thompson (associate professor in the Department of Physics at the National University of Colombia), who also is going to perform as the Principal Investigator, and it shall comprise the sociologists Carlos Valderrama and Willingnton Ortiz (graduates of the National University of Colombia). The Physics Department of the National University of Colombia recognizes the importance of establishing research networks that contribute to strengthen and disseminate knowledge in diverse study spheres. In this regard, by this letter, the physics Department of the National University of Colombia approves the execution of the project and expresses its support to the team that will take part in the research. Likewise, the Department approves the participation of Professor Robert Thompson in the project and expresses its disposal to allow him to dedicate 25% of his working time to the execution of the research for its entire duration (30 months). It is relevant to let you know that four students from the University will be part of the project as assistant researchers. By signing this letter, the researchers of the team are committed to achieving and fulfill the agreed tasks of the project, in case the project has the financing for its execution.
