I decided go back to college when I was 38 years old. I thought It could be interesting in order to find a better job, and give up my current . You’re never to old to learn. So I went to the college to talk with the careers advisor. She showed me the prospectus of the college. I am interesting in a part-time distance learning course; because of my lack of time, I couldn’t afford to give up my job to attend lectures As I have a computer degree, I finally decided to apply for a course in web designed. The costs of the course were very high, so I applied for a student loan to pay my tuition fees and I also got a grant from the government It took me six years in all to complete my degree but I have absolutely no regrets --- I would like to say my personal experience with distance learning. This experiencie was very positive. After I finished secondary school, I went into tertiary education. There, I decided to study a computer programmer degree. But suddenly, I found a good job and I coundn’t finish my studies because the work didn´t let me enough free time . Later things got worse. I’d been doing the same job for ten years. I hadn’n been given any real training or got a promotion. The reason was quite simple: I hadn’t got I degree. One day I decided that my situation wasn’t good enough. I wanted to improve, so I would need to get better qualifications. As I hadn’t enough time to attend lectures, I applied for a course at the Open University: a UK institution that provides higher education to adults through distance learning. It took me six years to complete my degree, studying in the evening and at the weekend, but I have absolutelly no regrets. Although it was difficult to learn on distance, my experience was very positive because I received a lot of support and encouragement from my teachers. --- I would like to say my personal experience with distance learning. This experiencie was very negative. I cound’t go into tertiary education because I got married and had children soon after living school. My situation at work wasn’t good enough. So I decided to improve my career prospects. As I couldn’t afford to give up my job to attend lectures, I enrolled in a distance learning course . So when I come back home after a hard day’s work, I turn on the computer and started studying. It was necessary spend a lot of time to understand everything without a teacher. On the other hand, the online learning platform didn’t work very well. Finally, it was impossible to me to finish the degree. I really regret I hadn´t gone into tertiary school when I was younger
