When Mariana started racing she raced and won against boys as there was no girl’s league in Colombia. Now she inspires a generation of aspiring sportswomen.

She won more than 30 championships on the BMX tracks, where she got the first place.

She was a gold medal winner, in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics Games. For that reason was awarded as “America's athlete of the year” in 2019, prize given in Catar.

Mariana has managed to raise the name  of Colombia up around the world
