Well, there's no doubting that the new technologies are the major breakthrough from the last 25 years. But in my view, that is the combination of digital technology and the internet that makes the difference. What is magical is that engineers and scientists both invented the way of translating any images, sounds and texts into series of numerals and instantly transmitting these numerals from any computer or smartphone to another one so they can be translated back into images, sounds and texts. Therefore, it's like anybody anytime had the image of the whole world in one's pocket and could recreate it and share it with …. the whole planet. Awesome!

Of course, as usual, the more powerful the invention is, the more scaring and potentially destructive the threat is that accompanies these new powers when they are misused as new weapons, a new approach for a human group to dominating another.

So for these new technologies to be useful, people should be warned of the dangers they may conceal: watch the Promethean inventions!
