I am a postdoctoral fellow currently working at the X National Research Council. I would like to know if it would be possible for me to apply for some sort of funding in order to work under your supervision. I am very interested in your research projects and I think that I have the right set of skills to participate in them. I hold a B.Sc. in Genetics and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. During my Ph.D. studies I characterized a variety of solid fluorescent materials using both fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) and conventional fluorescence spectroscopy techniques. Some of the aforementioned materials consisted of dyes that were adsorbed on the surface of common pharmacological excipients (i.e., microcrystalline cellulose). Among other things, we used these materials as model systems to study the Förster energy transfer between different organic fluorophores. The goal of these studies was to mimic the behaviour of the light-harvesting complexes of green plants in order to extend the range of wavelengths that can be used by our fluorescent materials.
