I was about to make my last cent to make me a fiver. The screen showed 4.99. Three, two, one and here it is! Four sixty-seven. What a flip?! I thought. Then something really weird started to happen. The figures went up to ninetyƬ-nine and down again. It didn't show less than four twenty-one, the amount of money that I had this morning. Something must be wrong with the server were my thoughts.
Mitsy, it's a pee time! I turned off my computer, took my dog and left home.
The white scorching sun was shining in the sky. The benches of my lovely yard were empty, the cars seemed untouched from the morning. Mitsy walked around the corner and I followed her. We went along my house and turned to the playground where I usually have fun with my friends. There were no people there. It felt like if it were the midday. I checked my wristwatch and it showed seven o'clock. It's the right time to take my mom from her work.
My mom works at the market right across the street from here, and I often come to go home together.
Hi, mom! How's it going? - I asked when came up to her stall.
Well, it's fine, but there are no people who would buy something, you know.
Oh yeah, they'll maybe come another day - I smiled
What a lovely dog you are holding in your hands! Whose is it? - mom asked in surprise.
Mom, it's Mitsy, it's our dog. - I answered.
What Mitsy? Where did you take this dog? - mom inquired.
Wassers gave it to us. You remember, mom, you told them that you wouldn't work anymore and you would buy a little dog and take her out along our streets. So Aunt Megan brought her Roxy to a male dog and gave a puppy to us.
From my mom's expression, I could understand that what I was telling sounded like a bullshit to her.
What's wrong with you, Alex? Now, take this dog and give it back to its master! Go! - she shouted in a commanding tone.
I couldn't keep staying with my mom anymore and left.
To be continued...
