HISTORICAL REVIEW
Before being a town, this territory was an area where people used to do commercial work or simply as comercial routes.
In 1907, Antonio Tatis managed to get Candelario Lopez to sell him a piece of land to fulfill an old dream: to build a small town. Lopez agreed with the condition that the town be called Valparaiso. In 1957 the town was named corregimiento by the departmental assembly.
The town of Pueblo Nuevo, is located in east of the department it is 66 kilometers from its capital Monteria. It has an extension of 819 square kilometers, with a height 120 meters above the sea level its weather is warm, the temperature ranges from 28° to 30° centigrade. It has a population of 42.650 people

It is formed by three colors
Yellow: Represents the gold of our zenues ancestors, which lived in these lands
White: It represent the haven of peace and hospitality
Green: Represents the life hope and progress of town.

In the top it has a sentences “inquire is a source of knowledge” this means that whoever consults acquires more knowledge.
In the middle, there is a picture of the great bogs owned by the town. In this part we can see some birds that represent the fauna, and a canoe that represents the means of transport of the fishermen and the corn agriculture.
The lower part we can see a picture that represents animal husbandry as the support base of the town.
