Some people believe that friendships formed over the Internet are as strong as ones formed in person. It seems to me, however, that a real friendship requires interaction beyond screens. To start with, I think you can't know a person deeply enough in a virtual context. People receive an idealized image of that "friends", generally far away from their true personality. Furthermore, I believe friendship is much more than chatting and sharing pictures. Actually, real bonds between people are made when they share same daily experiences, when they can count on each other in difficult moments or be side by side in good ones. In conclusion, I think friendships formed over the Internet are not authentic but superficial, provided that people need to share real experiences in order to truly connect their lifes.
