The pie charts compare the proportion of students at one university in the UK who were able to speak languages other than English between 2000 and 2010.
Or:
The pie charts compare the percentage of students at one University in the UK in terms of the ability of speaking languages other than English.
It is clear that in both 2000 and 2010, the biggest percentage of students who were able to speak other languages went on Spanish. (or: Spanish only has the biggest percentage. ) The figure for students who spoken two other languages, another language and Spanish increased, while the proportion of rest of the languages listed decreased or remained the same / haven’t changed.
In the year 2000, around one-third of students could speak Spanish only, while 20% of student couldn’t speak any other language. (or: 20 % of the British students were not able to speak another language.) The figure for the ability of speaking French and another language was 15%,whereas the proportion dropped to only 10% for two other languages and German only.
In 2010, the proportion of students who were able to speak Spanish and another or two other languages increased by 5 percent to 35%, 20% and 15% respectively.
(Or: More students could speak Spanish and another language or two other languages rose by 5 %, reaching 35%, 20% and 15% respectively. )
(It shows that more people have learned other languages.)The figure for students who don’t speak other language fell by 10 % from 20% in 2000 to 10% in 2010. (or: fell by half/ fell to half from 20% to in 2000 to 10% in 2010.), whereas French seemed not that popular among students compared to 2010, dropping by 5 % to 10%. The percentage of students who use German remained the same above the 2000 level.
