Mrs. Mari Yamazaki attracts me. She is a Japanese writer of comics and essay who actively work mainly in Japan and Italy, and is famous for the original comic series of the big-hit movie “Thermae Romae.”

In some books she wrote, she said that she visited Europe alone at the age of 14. It was her first experience going abroad. Later at the age of 17, she studied abroad in Italy to learn oil paintings. She had been there since then and had spent her severe 20's far from Japan.

After I read her books and knew what she had gone through, I gradually realized her boldness, wildness, and coolness came from all this experience. The existence of her made me more energetic. That's why I cannot stop being attracted to her.
