The author reacts to another article of the same website which defends the sharks and denounces the unjustified fear

towards them. For him, if it is not justified to fear a shark attack as a surfer in the United States, considering the very

low attack rate, it is actually the case in high-risk areas like in La Réunion where the risk is abnormally high. According

to the author, the arguments generally used are dishonest and allow many persons whom he describes as eco warrior

to unfairly attack people who claim measures. The author then refutes some of these most common arguments : the

responsibility of the movie “Jaws” in the bad image of sharks, the comparison of the number of deaths by car accident

and shark attack, or the inefficiency of culling.
