I woke up at 7am this morning, half an hour earlier than usual. Why did I get up early today? I guess I was a little stressful and restless about meeting the deadline of my part time job.

Speaking of the part time job, it actually just started recently. Two days ago, I saw a want ad posted on the official wechat account of 51Zhaofanyi, a Chinese platform on which people can find numerous recruitment information related to English. The whole interview process was proceeded via internet. I applied to the post, did some tests and got it.

My job title is transcriber, the spirit of being a transcriber is to write down everything that is said by the speaker (not native) in audio clips despite of any grammar mistakes.

The English that each speaker says is just entry level, so the language itself is not difficult to grasp, yet the rules for recording contents for various situations are complicated(at least over 30).

Therefore, in the end, being competent for this job or not is not about language skill at all. Anyone can do it as long as he has enough patience and spare time. Since my English is not that good to be immune to any mistakes in grammar or pronunciation, I’m afraid that continuing this job may end up doing harm to my own English study..
