An area in your country has been selected to be part of a social experiment: the creation of a new nation. You have been chosen to design it. Answer the following questions to describe your plan.
I will design as a part of a social experiment a new nation, in a small area of Colombia. My main theory is based on nature, we need to go back to the natural organization of society to do things differently. I just have to observe the behavior of a chimpanzee community, analyze, and draw conclusions. There is always a leader, the one with the dominant personality and empathy that the others chimps love, the alpha male, the group obeys him but if other leaders take supremacy, the new alphas forced him to leave the group. Conflicts are solved themselves, so if they need to kill another chimpanzee, they do it.
1. Which political system will the country have?
I will choose anarchy as a political system for my new country with any sign of authoritarianism, coercion, or censorship. I believe that we all have and tend to have an order, and if you give people autonomy, they will start cooperation and mutual help for the community and will associate voluntarily with each other. Then, the justice will be by their own hand, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
2. What benefits will the country have for the elderly?
The elderly won’t have any support, apart from their family, friends, and community. I have the theory that people, as a sociable human being always form a group and will begin to build self-sustainable homes and show empathy with each other as the chimpanzees do. We will have small tribes again.
3. What industries will your country try to develop?
In this country, we will think about green, renewable energies, recycling, food harvesting without chemicals and pesticides. I would like the country to develop technology for agriculture and to obtain energy, in this way we can sell services. In order to develop this kind of industry, is important to begin researching in these areas from high school with help from the community.
4. Will you give an allowance for unemployed people?
Since everybody works for their own benefit, if someone is unemployed it is because they don’t want to collaborate with others. The idea is working in associations and create companies together, so if someone loses, everyone loses. We will have created our own companies working for sustainability.
5. What kind of immigration policy will there be?
We will be open to everyone who wishes to live without rules in our special country. If someone doesn't fit in, they either voluntarily leave or the community leaves them out.
6. What policies will you implement in regards to education and health?
In our country there won’t have any schools, every family and every group will be responsible for their children’s education. If they want to make special schools that will be their decision. We hope to have technology that connects people to the world and doesn’t get behind in education. Eventually, I hope that the community will create its own universities with special careers needed. As we don’t pay taxes there, each community is in charge of creating their own hospitals and training its people in medicine.
7. What will have happened after three years of having implemented those policies? (Include at least 4 ideas).
After three years of having implemented the anarchy, the population will have lived naturally way to do things, as animals do. They will have been prosecuted from their own people and their own rules, and maybe this will have caused more deaths while the system reorganized itself.
After three years they will have found a leader or leaders, apart from me at the beginning, who have the knowledge, education, and empathy to organize the special country. If they don’t find leaders, the country will have been in total chaos, and the experiment will be over.
