There are lots of discussions about the ratio of academic studies and physical exercises in school education. From my point or view, students need not only academic classes, but also physical education every school day. I will support my opinion with two reasons. First, physical exercises are strongly recommended by the majority of doctors because sports activities are extremely important for human health. My own experience provides with a good example which supports this assumption. When I was seventeen years old girl, I was deeply concerned with exam preparation, so I didn't go to the gym. After a year without physical exercises I felt weak and ill. Moreover I suffered from headache. The lack of physical exercises can do a big damage on students' health. Second, sport activities is not a way of wasting time but a great tool to improve students' productivity, included academic abilities. Nowadays neuroscience specialists, biologists, doctors and self-development coaches agree that sport makes highly positive impact of people's cognitive abilities. I can support this idea with the example from the book «The Willpower Instinct» by Kelly McGonigal. She describes an interesting research. Some students who didn't used to do sport regularly were given an opportunity to visit gym. The outcome was amazing. These students became more organized, their academic achievements increased. Lots of highly successful businessman claim that an hour in the gym provides them with several hours of productive work. So, physical exercises at school is a good idea not only for the sport sake, but because they help students to improve their academic results. To sum up, I am pretty sure that physical exercises should be a part of every school day for two reasons. First, students like all of us need sport to be healthy, second, physical activity makes students more clever and organized what is extremely important for their academic success.
