Approx 1800 years ago,

An old man who had been wanted by court was hidden in the Mountain Huiji.

One day, the day was peaceful, he took out his Guqin (a kind of musical instrument)

While he was playing it passionately one of the strings broke.(Guqin has 7 strings)

A girl who was playing game next door said

“The 2rd string broke.”

The old man didn’t matter, he thought the girl was just a blind guess.

Then he went on playing and broke another string deliberately.

The little girl said again:

The 4th string is broken.”

The old man who was playing Guqin named Cai Yong.

He was known as the leader of the Confucianist in the latest years of the Donghan Dynasty(AD.25-220).

The Guqin he was playing named Jiaoweiqin which was one of the 4 most famous Guqins in the history of China.

The girl was playing game in next door was his eldest daughter named Cai Wenji who was the heroine of our stories.

She was 6 years old at that time. The Three-Character Classic(a famous ancient Chinese work for children) said

“Cai Wenji,Neng Bian Qin”,(means:Cai Wenji could distinguish the sounds of Guqin’s strings.) it just was talking about this affair.
