Tarot, especially during modern times, has been related to occultism and witchcraft. Some people connect its beginnings with ancient Egypt, however, there is not certainty about how it was created or who invented. In European countries and part of Latin America, the tarot is used as a card game. I remembered when I was a child, observing some old ladies spending their afternoons playing tarot, laughing, smoking, drinking coffee, and using sophisticated worlds as knights, swords, and wands. This is a practice that it is dismissing, and nowadays, it is almost impossible of being a witness to such fun and unique moments. I don’t know exactly why the word tarot enhances a sensation of magic and mysticism, I never saw any supernatural activity when those ladies were playing the cards. The only supernatural thing that I experienced at those meetings it was when you laughed so loud that you had the sensation of almost floating.  Those ladies were just sharing good moments as friends. Have you ever looked in detail a tarot card? It is a piece of art. It really is. A lot of symbolism and wisdom is in there. Now as a grown up, I started to be intrigued by the tarot. None particular reason at all, however since I spontaneously started studying the cards, I amazed myself about how a picture can hold so much information about life. Every card has a story and a message, every card has hidden knowledge that it has been kept there for centuries and it is revealed only when you dear to read it. Every card is so complex and full of synchronism between its different elements that are simply beautiful. Reading a tarot card is like being reading an ancient book or talk with a wise man. It is so fascinating that it almost impossible not to use that information for your daily life. One day I was reading an article about a psychoanalyst using the tarot cards as therapy to her patients. She was explaining the importance of the images and symbolism exposed on the cards to work out on her patient’s psyche and traumatic experiences. She was able to uncover their unconscious thoughts only by confronting the patients with tarot cards. Thank you, I appreciate your comments and corrections. Blessings.
