The last story is how I got inspiration from movies and literature. I used to feel that literature were tedious and ununderstandable, but after I majored literature for 4 years, I found that it is the words of loneliness that utter the true feelings that humans are blind to perceive. After reading The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas (by Ursula Le Guin), I was shocked and provoked by the message that the author tried to convey. “The child that lived in a basement” motivated me to understand more about the victims under the society of Utilitarianism. I was deeply impressed with the inequity problems that this world is facing. Since I believe Social enterprises are one of the remedies, I started to get involved in it. I used to be a volunteer in some social enterprises activities, and I also participated in a competition of visiting worldwide social entrepreneurs. My team planned out a proposal that proposes possible solutions, which may be applied in the context of Taiwan by visiting successful social entrepreneurs abroad. These experiences influenced me to pursue a management education to improve my understanding of management and business of marketing. Movies and literature make me a sensitive person who can easily walk into people's hearts, and this characteristic enables me to apply my strength to my work. After taking the course of Film Noir analysis, I started to be fascinated with psychoanalysis and finally came to your class in my last semester. I combined my psychology and marketing skills and utilize them in my work, and in doing so I have learned much more than I expected.
