Last year we went to Sicily on vacation. We flew to Palermo and we arrived at nine in the afternoon. At first, I thought that our airplane was going to crush into the sea, since we started to go down and down and I was not able to see any land beneath our airplane.  However, when were very close to the ground, the airport appeared under the wheels of our airplane and we landed safely. Then we rented a car at the airport. It was quite difficult to rent a car because the employees of the car hire agencies were neither polite nor helpful. However, by ten in the afternoon we had rented our car and we were on our way to San Vito Lo Capo, a little town in the northwest coast of the island. It would have been impossible to arrive to our destination without the GPS, since said town is somewhat difficult to find. When we finally arrived to our hotel, it was quite late and we went to bed immediately. On the next day, the first thing we saw from our hotel room was the blue waves of the Mediterranean, which pounded the sand rhythmically creating a very relaxing effect.
